A Charming Cafe in the Shadow of Sacré Coeur in Paris. When we visit Paris we almost always take time to walk around Montmartre and enjoy the views from Sacré Coeur. I will say that is very touristy. Sometimes that’s okay. We took the Metro #2 line getting off at Anvers and found a quiet street with views of the top of Scaré Coeur. And from there, we just started walking in the direction. It’s very hilly and lots of steps. But there are plenty of places to stop and enjoy the view as you ascend to the top.

You’ll even find people selling cold water bottles for €1. There are several shops and cafes right around Sacré Coeur. It’s very crowded and very touristy. Montmarte is such a lovely area of the city with its winding cobblestone streets. It has a rich artistic history that you can still see today with artists selling their work at The Place du Tertre.
On the other side of the the Basilique du Sacré Coeur we found a charming café that was just lively enough, but with locals from the neighborhood. We could not have been more pleased with our find. So thought it was worth a brief post for the next time you are in the neighborhood.

After you leave the café, which is all downhill by the way, there are more places to take in the views. It was getting late, although it never seems that way in the summer when it stays light until 10pm. We walked to the Wall of Love and then took the Metro back to our hotel. All in all, a great last evening in Paris for this trip!
